What Was It Like for You to Write This Story?

I think there was a lot of personal resistance in writing the story. Growing up with the privilege that i've hadyouno, itened to have a lot of awe and reverence for people who proceeded like the previous generation. I spent a lot of time in the stacks at columbia, which has one of the best libraries for tibetan scholarship in the world. And so all these interesting sort of things i learned about, i turned them into a narrative tools.
