Nick McKim is the Greens Treasury spokesman. He issued a statement demanding that the Albanese government override the bank and reverse the rate increase. The burden of high interest rates was falling most heavily on people who could at least afford it. Warwick McKibben says the government has kind of sought to make the RBA the scapegoat, making it wear the blame for wielding the only tool which can control inflation.
