Is There a Theory of Hope?

We would love to explain how all the forces are really the same thing, you know, not that they are exactly identical. And one obstacle to doing that is understanding why they're all such different strengths. We think that in the very early universe, or at very hot dense n irments, the strong force, the weak force, electromagnetism and maybe even gravity, all have the same strength.
