The Correlation Between Hair Straighteners and Uterine Cancer
There was a study in the journal of the National Cancer Institute, which associated hair straightening products with incidences of uterine cancer. This is a real example of correlation doesn't equal causation. Hair relaxers typically use potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide chemistry. The classes of molecules that they're calling out in hair straighteners are also found in tons of other areas of our life.
