How to Change Attitudes in Japan
In Japan, women are always a minority when they go into public life. The majority of professional women work as nurses, midwives and kindergarten teachers. There are now targets for at least 30% of parliament to be female. Kumiko Yuki is the head of city council in Tokyo's Minatoworld. In 2006 she was the only woman in a team of 12 counselors. Now her voice can be hard.
