The Sampong Disaster

502 people died in the Sampong disaster, and almost a thousand were injured. The building fell in on itself, crashing through the basement, which is used as a supermarket. June Lee, the building owner, was sentenced to 10 and a half years in prison for criminal negligence. Some officials were also jailed for accepting bribes when they approved the store's construction. There isn't a single memorial that commemorates the disaster today.
