Foundational self care is all about this consistent message to your body that says, Hey, I've got you. You wrap up with a blanket or put on socks when you're too cold. In my opinion, and this is an opinion, I have no research to support this at all, but I have seen it over and over again. So I think that it's true. As you build trust with yourself as your body starts to trust that when it gives you a signal, you will respond. There starts to be this underlying feeling of, Oh, I must deserve to be taken care of. My basic foundational needs can be met when you are actually caring for yourself"
