Common core has been widely interpreted throughout the country as requiring student centered instruction and discovery learning. The common curriculum instruction starts strong, with students receiving subject matter inst on already in kindergarten. With comincor, for example, long division is pushed up to fifth grade. Algebra is pushed up into grade nine at the earliest. This means that many students will denied the opportunity to take calculus in high school. In other industrialized countries, calculus is standard and secondary econemic tracts.
