Is There a Discrimination Ban on Social Media Platforms?
Genevieve Stavridis: A viewpoint discrimination ban would require platforms to keep up a significant amount of speech at the minimum, maybe more maximal interpretation. She says there's an implicit assumption that some legal speech is more legal than other legal speech. And then in the statute itself, there are some carve outs where you can take content down regardless of its viewpoint, she adds. East AVAVs: I think it's not surprising that Texas wants to let platforms take down illegal speech. But there's also barely legal lawful that awful speech in there.
