In order to understand the new information that's constantly coming at us, we need to have a good, deep conceptual knowledge. If you don't understand the basis of how our body works, emerging research on magnetic resonance imaging and computer tomography won't help you very much. "Sometimes behaviorism works really, really well learning the times or the addition tables in your head so that it becomes automated is pure behaviorism," he says.
