The Sackler Family's Demand for Full Immunity From Civil Legal Claims
The family demanded they get full immunity from all civil legal claims before they would settle. That's even though Purdue had filed for bankruptcy, and the Sacklers as individuals had not. The six billion does not leave the Sackler's poor. Six billion, that's just a little over half of their wealth. So it's nice to have happy.
