The Science of Everything Podcast

What Are Endocrine Signals?
The endocrine system is a signal that targets distant cells. The signaling molecules enter the bloodstream, which then carries them through capillaries and so forth to basically all cells in the body. Intracrine signals are produced by the target cell, secreted into the extracellular fluid, but then come back and affect the target cell itself. Juxtapine signalling would be useful for forming something called gap junctions.
