The Story of the Good Samaritan

Early Christians would look at this story and they would see so many symbols for us and the plan of salvation as it were. The man who went from Jerusalem to Jericho could represent us coming from the pre-earth life. And then we have the Samaritan who could be a representation of Jesus verse 34, pouring in oil and setting us upon himself or upon his own beast and then taking care of us. That could be a representations of the Atonement of Christ. They saw this as an allegory for us and our Savior.
