What Is the Drive to Truth?
Philosophers and scientists, as two chief representatives of this view, take themselves to be pursuing truth. It's the goal of all their activities, what their life work is oriented towards, and something they place value on. So it's actually a moral position, right? We think we want truth, some sort of accurate picture, an accurate representation of reality,. And then there's our actual situation, which doesn't seem to be conducive to getting that. Let me try to phrase my question a different woy.
