I don't have any strong opinion about whether we're going to reverse engineer it or reinvent it. I do think that it's vaguely in the vicinity of lots of different lines of artificial intelligence research, most notably model-based reinforcement learning. Maybe some of the people who have been on this podcast and elsewhere will study the principles of learning and whatnot in the brain and come up with the ideas that way.
