In the old bailey records, i found that silver ear trumpets were stolen and that some people were arrested. The elizabeth fases, the joshua reynoldss, speaking and hearing was part of their profession. They really needed something to help support conversation. And indeed, they could afford such a thing. But every day people wouldn't have ear trumpets. I mean, presume if your wearing ear trumpet, means you're sort of saying, deafness is bad and we need cureid.
