Casper's speaking and writing skills continued to markedly improve in the weeks following his arrival at dowmer's home. But there were other things about casper that dawmer hadn't expected to discover, such is his extraordinary ability to read in the dark. Or perhaps more strangely, his heightened sense of smell, or the way in which he seemed superhumanly attuned to some one's presence. And then was his strange connection to metal.
