Is There a Handicapping System in Chess?

I always look to f t l and how successful it's difficulty level system is because I know players at all levels People that struggle to win on easy to people that have long win streaks on hard. It sometimes feels like you're kind of cheating with different difficulty modes because You're not doing balance for just one mode. In these communities in particular we get obsessive players that act at a level That's just far beyond most other players so being able to cater for them is fantastic.
