How Do You Decide What Art Is Going to Be in the British Museum Collection?
The Tangled History section of the British Museum's new exhibition features works by artists from Lebanon, Syria and Iraq. The museum is a "museum of history" not an art museum as it has many different collections around the world. A lot of contemporary works are made by artists who either live in the countries of their birth or who are in diaspora. They can almost tell histories of what’s been going on in a particular country.
