The Different Types of Ketoacidosis

Ketoacidosis is always going to be present, but less than a quarter of patients have an aniongap, metabolic acidosis alone. The most common symptoms are nausea and vomiting occurring in about 3 quarters of patients. Serum beta hydroxybutyrate is the predominant ketone body producing AKA. As for management, the key is fluid, sugar, and electrolytes.
