Right Action, Right Action and Right Lingo Are the Subcategories of the Eightfold Path
Right speech, right action and right livelihood constitute the ethical conduct sub category of the eightfold path. And now we can move on to the second sub category which is mental discipline. So right effort is the will to prevent evil and unwholesome states of mind from arising in your life. You don't let things revenge and hatred and anger be a motivating force in your life - that's where mindfulness and concentration come in. But even if you don't apply it to yourself, however you want to do that loving kindness meditation, it is the right effort of cultivating wholesome state of mind.
