The Trump Justice Department's Role in the Mueller Investigation
We don't yet know the exact charges on which former President Trump has been indicted. That indictment is still under seal and will not be unsealed until a judge decides to unseal it. But from what we do know, the charges appear to stem from the case in which Trump was labeled by federal prosecutors and SDNY as individual one. The only person who ever went to prison for that scheme was Mr. Trump's attorney, Michael Cohen. Even though prosecutors said they had evidence that Cohen only committed the crime at the direction of President Trump, they never charged him.
