When the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, they wept with a loud voice. Thend many shouted aloud for joy, so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people. For the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off. Oh, there can be different displays of the same common emotion. They all felt something deep. And for some it was iffused in tears. In others it was iffused in shouts. But for them to be able to vent the, oh, the sense of loss, but also the sense of gain. What a moment i can only imagine. Well, we're getting a glimpse of that as as this is happening, with the temple of zerubobel rising from the ashes of the temple of solomon. Now, as excited as these people were, unfortunately, there were others that weren't so excited about a rebuilt temple, because, again, that was going to give the jews a a a focal point, a centre of gravity, something that would help remind them of who they really were. And in chapter four of ezra, you see those that are going to come and and try to hinder the work.
