The Fed's Optimism About the Labor Market
The Fed needs payroll gains of 50,000 or less to push the unemployment rate up by a meaningful amount. And they haven't gotten anything like that yet. I think when we get to next summer economic projections from the Fed in June, you'll probably see them being less optimistic about how fast they can bring inflation back down to 2%.
