Martin Moore: Don't do your people's work for them. He says over-functioning is one of the most common mistakes that new leaders are prone to make. It trains them to accept that you'll always step in and finish the job for them if anything goes wrong, he says. Your job is to give your people clarity of purpose, resources, coaching, clear direction, and the autonomy that comes with strong accountability. This is all about leading your people to do their jobs and being able to resist the temptation to step in when they fail.
