The Effects of Low FODMAPs on Bloating

Dr. Rusio: When one goes from a standard American diet that's lower probiotic, lower vegetable, lower fruit, lower fiber and moves toward a healthier diet, they're going to increase their levels of fiber and probiotics. Now within this biosis care, we'll oftentimes hear this recommendation of low FODMAP. But if you're on somewhat of a healthy baseline diet, does it mean you have to go even higher fiber and higher probiotic? No. And in some cases, it can make people worse, especially if they have active gastrointestinal symptoms.
