Museums association decried government interference in its decolonization efforts. A group of leading historical associations warned that such interference stifles the capacity of historians to do their work and exerts a wider chilling effect. The museum is governed by the museum act 19 63, written mainly for the purpose of keeping articles in its collection. But there is already an exception written into it, four items deemed qte unfit to be retained.
