The Parasympathetic Neuroscience
There's something happening where there's the building up of an insight and the feeling, the recognition that that insight leads to consequences that are scary. The individual literally goes to an almost instantiated shift and the propositional logic reboots itself. It triggers a limbic response to be able to short circuit the insight that is ready to happen and rebooting itself. So yes, there's a capacity to be aware of the degree to which our world has put us in a place where we've been so radically separated from many different modes of no longer understanding.
