The Importance of Domestic Life

In 1945, Lucille is arrested in Chicago for illegally wearing the uniform of a military nurse. She pleads guilty to this crime and immediately skips town. So now Lucille heads west. By the early 50s, she settled in San Francisco with her new name, Iva. In 1954, she's 32 years old and she marries again. And they eventually move into a small home in the city's outer mission neighborhood. It does seem like they're happy together. But at some point, Iva is injured after being hit by a jitney  and she's left with a limp.
