Prejudice incites an emotional response, such as anger or fear towards stigmatized groups. Fear may lead to employer not hiring someone with a history of mental health issues. Then this prejudice can be turned inwards, leading to self discrimination. The behavioral reaction and the most destructive of all is discrimination. It happened to me with my mental health. And Max spoke a lot about the problems and troubles her community have, like all communities. But sometimes when you talk to people with deep prejudice, they just don't want to hear it. They will use their confirmation bias," she says.
