The Importance of Training the Audience to Applaud

I was asked to do stand-up at the French football and rugby awards. I had five minutes basically to write jokes in front of this audience who are mainly all rugby players or football players. It's like, you know, when you're preparing something, like a new joke or some material in your mind, you're like, pause for laughter.
