The Origin of the Viking Word Score

The vikings wanted to keep count of something like live stock or goods. So they would do that by making little scratches or marks. The viking word for that is score. That same root also produce the norse words, scrape and scrap. And i should note that that same root word also passed into other european languages. For example, the franks had a version of that word, which passed into english via french.
