The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid was released on November 17th, 1989. It was a company saving hit that is arguably responsible for the dominoes that began to fall and the fact that today Disney is the biggest player in Hollywood. So what was in the zeitgeist that day in 1989? It was a hair metal ballad that I am personally a guest and hurt and very upset with myself that I did not know. This is an interesting story because I'm not really familiar with the original tale of The Little Mermaid. And that seems to me from my research to be an incredibly depressing tale, which is a little bit unlike the stuff that Walt Disney has done.
