Hubble Launches
Hobble launched in 80 or 90 d after a delay from the challenger explosion. Spherical aberration, throwing off the optical design was discovered just a couple of months after its launch. The planning for hubble's successor had actually begun in the 19 eighties. But you cannot proceed with the successor until the original is actually shown to work and to work well.
