When Richard Lewis was starting out in 1984, he didn't know who the big comics were. He recalls Eddie Murphy and Larry David as some of the biggest names at the time. The city is dangerous then: "The mafia controls these clubs now" You're just trying to see who are the biggest comedians that you're looking at when you're starting," says Lewis.
