The Free Gift of Grace

The King James translators are trying to help us understand the essence of the verse, even though the phrase free gift does not show up in the original Greek text. Just imagine being an ancient Roman Christian, whether from a Gentile or a Jewish background, how massively thrilling this message would be. For badness, my badness, our imperfection can't even come close to comparing with Christ's goodness and perfection.
