The Malcontents and the Colony

Historians call the malcontents, although I really like in one of their earliest letters, they are referred to by as the grumble tonians. They start complaining and saying, look, this colony is never going to flourish because our labor is too expensive. At South Carolina, they used enslaved laborers. The products are much cheaper. And we see in South Carolina Africans doing their work with pleasure. And we can't possibly do this," she says.
