Are the Scandinavian Models of Capitalism a Good Idea?
i think it's a little hard to figure out where capitalism ends and something beyond capitalism begins. But i do thinkthat there are some of the most successful societies in the world, and i think what makes them so successful is precisely not that they ly on cash transfers. Instead, they rely on unior, not universally available, broadly community available, public services supplied by a diversity of organizations,. labor unions, local communities, et cetera. And participation in this range of communities, rather than the idualistic, independent, i go off and do my own thing, vision, often promoted by universal basic income advocates, is what allows people to actually transcend the rat race of the market
