The Great Bengal Famine
After decolonization, India tried to delink from the old patterns of colonial trade. It built up a system of protecting pretty produced peasants and artisans who had been so badly exploited all through the colonial period. This culminated in the great bengal famine of 18 forty three, forty four. Three million civilians died in benga during the second war over a period of 18 months. And this included at least one million children aged 14 years or less. The fact that it was a genesite by omic means that the information was deliberate is not recognized today.
