Lily Wilson was an expert in probably almost anything that you could talk to some one about, for eastern religion or science. He'd lay graff over graff and be like, i think these states from this religion correspond to what i'm experiencing on ketamine at this tate,. But all of them - every single one of those charts ends with unknown. We just don't know. Right? I love that he went there. It's not like you can chart everything. He just says, and here is where we run up against the unknowable which i really appreciate about his cartography of the mind.

“In the province of the mind what one believes to be true, either is true or becomes true within certain limits. These limits are to be found experimentally and experientially. When so found these limits turn out to be further beliefs to be transcended. In the province of the mind there are no limits. However, in the province of the body there are definite limits not to be transcended.”
