When she was in the second grade, my teacher loved to scream. She shrieked and yelled from nine to three times a day. Her eyes bugged out, her lips curled back, and then the spit came flying. A student's never going to learn from such a fearsome creature. My most rewarding solution was a humorous poem I wrote to share with the sweetest, smartest seven-year-old ever. While she's screaming on the outside, Scott, I told him, you just think about this poem and laugh on the inside. It was our little secret until now.
