Dago: Why should i focus on projects over categories? This is really one of the biggest mind set shifts and shifts in behavior that i see people in my course half. Here's how it works. Most people, when they think of knowledge, they think of information. But a much better analogy, fr for professionals, for students, for people who are our intaking knowledge and then creating things, is a factory. A factory has a certain quality that is highly relevant to us, which is that it's linear. An output is really everything. When you create something, when you have real concrete output, people can't argue with that. They can't pretend it doesn't exist.
Instead of organizing ideas by category – such as “psychology,” “marketing,” or “economics” – which leads to silos that they can’t escape from, organize your ideas according to the projects where they will be most useful and actionable. Organizing your ideas according to which project they apply to also makes it easier to decide where they go, and easier to find when you need them.
