The Importance of Theory of Everything
A theory of everything refers to a physical theory so complete that questions left unanswered no longer appear interesting mathematically. It's not going to tell you where the base level of reality came from, or why there is something rather than nothing straight out in all probability. But what it would do is say, I don't think we're likely to make mathematical progress on that fundamental first assumption. And once you've thrown those two things away, you start to realize that it's going to be some sort of description of objects and their rules.
