The Panic of Non-Basmati Rice
India's major exports are two African countries which accounts for 65 to 70% of what we export in overall non-basmati rice. Globally, 54.5 million tons of rice is traded and India has a share of 40%. 17% last year was by 100% broken rice which was banned maybe through the last year but now it is totally banned. So that is what is causing panic across the world because they will not be able to fulfill their supplies from other origins. UAE today has also issued instructions locally that export and re-excode of rice from all origins including India.
