James's artistry, skill at creating scenes and drama his sly sexuality make him a subject of fascination not only for ordinary readers but also for students and teachers of literature. Hollywood goes through James periods sometimes like it does with emforster and Jane Austen and Dickens and they discover there are good plots there even as James increasingly made the readers struggle to find those plots so you can be one of those seven readers or some combination of those readers and then plunge into these major novels.
