Is There Really an Inconsistency Between Divine Sympathy, Goodness and Rationality?
One final argument i want to look at again, divine passibility. This one focuses on an inconsistency between divine ympathy, goodness and rationality. Some people have suggested that if god needs experiences such as emotion for experiential forms of knowledge, then god must have wide ranging emotional states. And so perhaps god experiences things inappropriate to god and god's self empathetically. So a the thought is that maybe god doesn't experience sadism in god's self, but has second person knowledge of other people's experience that sadism, so empathizes with sadists.
