Onitsuka wants to buy a controlling interest in blue ribbon sports. Phil had no intention of selling his company and would likely go out of business if they did not find another supplier. Onitsuka wanted to transfer national distribution rights into america, sell them off piece by piece or carve up smaller territories. Blue Ribbon needed onitsuka more than onitsuka needs blue ribbon. The two men met for the first time since their last meeting three weeks earlier. They discussed sales figures as well as katami's threat to cut off supply.
