The chronicles attribute to him a number of actions that begin to sound almost cartoonisly villainous. It's certainly possible that ali was just as ruthless and bloodthirsty as they say. Some historians have even questioned whether he suffered from a personality disorder. But i think the least we can say is that the violence of this king appears to have stemmed from a number of deep seated insecurities.
