The Push Factors That Bring Saxon Migrants to Britain
The Roman Empire collapsed, so too did its stabilizing effect on the barbarians who lived beyond its borders. Migrants tend to go places where they will have a support network in place waiting for them. The fact that there were already Saxon settlers there was probably a big one. Enough migrants came that they fundamentally transformed the eastern part of the island.
