The Secret Talks Between the Soviets and the Nationalists
Under this plan, ROC forces with U.S. government logistical and transportation support would seize 5 southwestern provinces of the Chinese mainland from where Hanoi was continuing to receive massive crucial supplies. The internationalist would thereby cut off the PRC supplies and help the Americans. But there wasn't enough certainty. And you can't really plan such a risky move on the unproven hope that will be greeted as liberators.
